TIRANA, February 3 /ATA/ “2500 individual houses damaged by the earthquake of November 26, 2019 will be reconstructed within 2021 in the areas affected by the earthquake.”
Deputy Minister of Interior Besfort Lamallari made the statement on Wednesday during the meeting of the prefecture of Durrës region where was done the analysis of the work for 2020.
Lamallari said that the analysis shows that the earthquake of November 26, 2019, had similar consequences to a war scenario.
“The year 2020 has been an extremely challenging year for everyone, but even more so for the municipalities of Durrës region! The rubble of the earthquake of 26.11.2019 resembles a war scenario: 18 educational institutions out of 57 in the municipality of Durrës were destroyed. 13 educational institutions out of 38 in the municipality of Kruja were destroyed. 6 educational institutions out of 14 in the municipality of Shijak were destroyed. The work for their reconstruction has started and continues! ” – said Lamallari.
“Reconstruction has begun. Construction has started for 9 buildings in Durrës, 9 in Shijak and intensive work continues at the reconstruction sites: Thumanë, Fushë-Krujë and Bubq! About 90% of the families who have agreed to leave the damaged houses have received the rent bonus! ” – stressed Lamallari.
“Managing the devastating consequences of the earthquake has continued despite the added difficulties of the global COVID-19 pandemic,” Lamallari said./a.a/r.e/p.s./
