TIRANA, Jan 30 /ATA/ – Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, also the political head of the electoral campaign of the Socialist Party for Tirana district, said at a meeting with party supporters in Rrogozhine that the opposition Democratic Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration were all aware of their inevitable defeat in the April 25 parliamentary elections.
According to him, this can be easily demonstrated through the fact that neither DP nor the Socoalist Movement for Integration say a single word about the post-earthquake reconstruction programme, “and not only that, but the reconstruction process is inexistent to them.”
“Drafting an economic program to cease power and failing to say a single word about the earthquake, it mean you are not seeking to win, otherwise you would have said at least two words about the plight of the quake-affected families. The fact that the post-earthquake reconstruction is not part of their program at all, means that they know they won’t take office, and know best that nobody else can do the reconstruction better than us,” Veliaj said.
On the other hand, he also noted that if the SMI leader Monika Kryemadhi was to be serious about the pledge for the babies, “she would have granted them the 500000 lek payment in the period 2011-2015, when she headed Tirana Municipality together with Lulzim Basha.”
