TIRANA, January 15/ATA/ “The situation has been critical from Lake Shkodra to the Vjosa River. We have successfully faced it and now we breathe a sigh of relief. But, it is also an opportunity to learn other lessons and see what we need to do better in terms of coordinating all forces.”
Prime Minister Edi Rama made the statement today at a joint press conference with Minister of Defense Niko Peleshi and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milva Ekonomi on the situation from the floods.
“The evil is quickly forgotten and good has no end, this is human nature. But, the situation of floods is incomparable with the past. The figures and facts are incomparable and this is related to the work done because what comes from God is not up to us,” Rama underlined.
The head of government said that, “The issue of the Drini cascade is also related to an objective absence since the cascade was built, the absence of Skavica”.
“The construction of Skavica which will be a reality in the next term as a result of the process where we entered into cooperation with the US government, will close the chapter of fear of hydropower plant layoffs. But, as long as Skavica is not yet built, the management challenge is the main challenge,” Rama said.
PM Rama said that, “This time we have won the management challenge not only thanks to the strict follow-up of all procedures, but also the 24-hour attention of the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy and the professional ability and professional integrity of the head of KESH Benet Beci ”.
Further on, Prime Minister Rama stressed that the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Defense have been the first line in this challenge and today they have a lot to say about the result./k.s/j.p/r.e/p.s./
