TIRANA, Jan 4 /ATA/ – By A. Fortuzi/On Monday morning, the moutainous areas of Korça are all covered in snow, while the city was swept by showers of moderate intensity. The road maintenance crews are on standby and all road axes are passable.
Dhori Spirollari, the Prefect of Korça region, told the Albanian Telegraphic Agency, that “the territory of Korça region recorded up to 22 mm of rain overnight while the mountainous areas at the altitude of 1,200 meters, such as Dardha, Qafa e Qarit, Vithkuq and Voskopoja, were covered by snow which has reached a thickness layer up to 20 cm in the area of Dardha, and in other areas up to 5 cm. All national road axes are passable.”
“Contracting companies in charge of road maintenance during winter on Korça-Qafë e Qarit-Ersekë, Boboshticë-Dardhë and Korçë-Voskopojë axes, have cleared the snow and thrown salt overnight. There are no problems with electricity supply. Currently there is light rainfall. The prefecture is closely following the situation, ” – Spirollari told ATA.
