Xhaçka extends New Year greetings to Armed Forces

TIRANA, Dec 31 /ATA/ – Olta Xhaçka, in her last message as Defence Minister before taking office as new Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs as part of the latest government reshuffle, extended Thursday her best wishes to the Albanian Armed Forces for a happy and successful new year.

“Happy New Year 2021! 2020 was really a tough year! However, 2020 found Armed Forces better prepared and equipped, organized and more capable than ever before to help citizens in such extremely challenging times. We are proud of every woman and man in army uniform, and I would like to send my best wishes to each and every one of them, especially those serving in international missions abroad on this New Year’s Eve, Happy 2021!” Xhaçka said.

Members of the Armed Forces note via the video message that Albanian army has become an exporter of security.

“We all demonstrated that the Albanian families will never be alone. We are in the line of duty, especially on days like these, when citizens need us more than ever. We are serving 27 hours a day, 7 days a week. We feel we receive better financial treatment, and equipment up to NATO standards. Investments in infrastructure and participation in many NATO-led missions around the world make Albanian Army an exporter of security,” some of the members of the Armed Forces said via the video message.
