TIRANA, December 31/ATA/ One of the geniuses of Albanian literature, Migjeni already speaks Italian, too.
Minister of Culture Elva Margariti said today that the volume “Lethal Beauty” has been translated into Italian.
“One of the geniuses of Albanian literature, the eternal young man, Migjeni already speaks Italian. The publishing house “Besa” and the National Center for Books and Reading share with us the good news of translation of the volume “Lethal Beauty”, supported by the Fund for translation from Albanian into foreign languages. Congratulations Ada Prizreni for the work! ”, said Margariti.
Migjeni moved from a revolutionary romanticism to critical realism during his lifetime. He was extremely indignant at the deep gap of inequality between classes. This pushed him to reflect the deep poverty of the years when he lived, and by appearing to the heroes of his creations such as “Do you like any coal, sir?”. He supported the youth with the revolutionary idea of changing the country. It pushed them to get the courage to act.
The reflection of the deep poverty of the masses occupies a central place in all of Migjeni’s publications. For the writer, it was of great social significance to bring to light as clearly as possible the abyss of suffering, where the regime had thrown the people. The heroes of his best works were the unemployed, the highlanders who stood in the grip of life, the wretched who were thrown out of society. /a.a/p.s./
