First Career Counseling Office opens in Tirana

TIRANA, December 18 /ATA/ The Municipality of Tirana, supported by the Swiss project RisiAlbania, inaugurated today the first career counseling center, which helps young people, as well as adults looking for job.

The Career Counseling Office of the Municipality of Tirana will serve to inform and advise young people and adults in their decisions regarding the profession and education.

Deputy Mayor Anisa Ruseti and Swiss Ambassador Adrian Maître were the first to visit the center on its opening day. The services of the center follow the Swiss model of career centers, adapted to the context of Albania and the needs of young people in the country.

“Career counseling brings a dual benefit: First, young people benefit from well-informed career decision-making, which brings them social, financial and emotional well-being. Secondly, employers benefit from the most well-informed and well-qualified young people entering the labor market,” said Swiss Ambassador Adrian Maître.

“We are very happy to open this office today, which is not only the first in Albania, but also in the region. More and more careers are focusing on innovative fields, towards what will be the trend of the next 100 years and we would like to anticipate this development by helping young people in their orientation. Through the portal karriera.tirana.al, young people will be able to access everything that this office offers”, said the deputy Mayor of Tirana Ruseti.

The consultants working at the center are trained according to international professional standards and exchanges with Swiss counterparts. The office will use state-of-the-art tools to explore career areas of interest to jobseekers, to analyze their counseling and guidance needs, as well as to identify the difficulties young people and adults face in making decisions during their professional journey. /r.e/p.s./
