TIRANA, Nov 25 /ATA/ As reconstruction of the earthquake-damaged houses is well underway, the affected families will continue to access the rent subsidy throughout 2021.
Minister of Finance and Economy, Anila Denaj, stated today that a ALL 1.5 billion fund has been earmarked in the next year’s budget to cover the rent subsidy for the homeless families whose houses are under construction.
“While some houses have been completed and others are being built back, the budget will continue to subsidize the rent throughout 2021 for every family left homeless by Nov 26 earthquake,” the minister says.
During 2020 around 14 thousand families have received the rent subsidy, whereas the fund earmarked in the state budget was ALL 3 billion.
Around 1 thousand homes for families affected by Nov 26 earthquake will be completed by the end of 2020, while work is running at high rates in all reconstruction sites.
