TIRANA, November 23 /ATA/ – The Albanian Football Association will organize an athletic training course in early December.
The leader of this course will be the athletic trainer of the Albanian national football team Luigi Febbrari.

The well-known Italian coach Claudio Ranieri, who currently leads Sampdoria hailed this initiative of the Association through a video message. He said it is welcomed and highly appreciated and explained specifically to FSHF.org the importance of the role of athletic trainer for a football team nowadays and his experience with athletic trainers.
“I got to know that in December there will be a course for athletic trainers in Albania and I wanted to share my experience. In my first 7 years as a coach, I worked without athletic trainers because I wanted to understand what it is like to physically prepare a football team. I did this starting from amateurs to move on to Serie C, Serie B, then Serie A. I ran Napoli for two years after the Maradona era without an athletic trainer and since 1993 I would like to work as a coach assisted by an athletic trainer.
Nowadays, there is no longer just an athletic trainer, but more than one. For example, at Sampdoria I have three athletic trainers, or more precisely 4 athletic trainers, because one of them only deals with the treatment of the injured. When they are injured and train separately, they do physiotherapy and then until they return to the first team, an intermediate step is needed”, Ranieri said.
“This is why a special athletic trainer is needed to guarantee this player to gradually recover until he is available to the first team. The other three are at my disposal and one for example deals with strength exercises and the other is specialized in a different methodology.
For this reason, athletic trainers are very important. You in Albania are doing very nice things and I want to compliment you. But, give your help in this regard because athletic trainers are very important. Goodbye everyone “, said Ranieri in his message for FSHF.
According to the new regulation approved by the Association, in every football team there will be an athletic trainer in the staff of a team, but also in its technical bench./p.s./
