PRISTINA, November 12 /ATA/- Senior officials in Kosovo have reacted to the statement of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic regarding the dialogue with Kosovo. Vucic is quoted as saying
“The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has shown how a frozen conflict, when frozen, can evolve into a real catastrophe”.
Acting President Vjosa Osmani has asked NATO and the EU to react to these provocative statements by the Serbian head of state.
“I expect the EU and NATO to respond to this threat of a violent war by Vucic,” Osmani said.
Prime Minister of Kosovo Avdullah Hoti appreciated that the statements of the President of Serbia are not in favor of normalization of relations between the two countries, reaching a final agreement and mutual recognition.
Hoti said that this statement is contrary to all the commitments that Serbia has made, under the guarantees of the international community for lasting peace and economic development in the region.
“The Government of Kosovo continues to be committed to its constructive role for the benefit of peace, stability and prosperity of the entire region. The Government of Kosovo expects from the European Union and NATO to react to these provocations”, is said in the reaction.
Hoti stressed that the Government of Kosovo will continue its commitment to the country’s membership as soon as possible in NATO, the EU and all relevant international institutions, as an added value for the development of democracy and peace in the world./p.s./
