TIRANA, Oct. 29/ATA/- The United States fully supports Albania’s objective and merit-based process to recruit and select NBI investigators. These law-enforcement standards of physical and intellectual rigor are essential for the NBI to fulfill its mandate.
“The National Bureau of Investigation, in order to fulfill its obligations to the Albanian people, must adhere to the highest standards. To this end, the criteria for becoming an investigator are tough and have been chosen to create a unique and selected group of investigators,” SPAK said.
“All the steps of the selection process, many of them built according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the United States, have been reviewed by an International Commission to ensure a fair and transparent process. These steps include verification of applicants for meeting the criteria, the logical reasoning test, physical test, essay test, panel interview, polygraph test and the asset and figure verification,” according to SPAK statement.
“While the candidates are taking these steps, they are being supervised by a commission composed of three prosecutors randomly selected of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) and by the International Commission to ensure that these phases are carried out and scored in the most equitable and transparent manner possible. According to SPAK, the high standards will be important factors in ensuring that NBI investigators are prepared and able to perform the hard work that awaits them,” SPAK concluded. //a.i/
