TIRANA, October 27/ATA/ Lending to the economy is following the trend of steady growth in almost its three categories, long-term, medium-term and short-term.
The Bank of Albania said that medium-term loans, with a maturity of one to five years, marked an annual increase close to 7%.
While long-term loans in terms of maturity for more than five years, led the lending, accounting for 58% of the total loan portfolio for the economy.
According to the BoA, unlike these two categories, short-term loans, with a maturity of up to one year, shrank by 8%, compared to the same period a year earlier.
The change of the credit structure according to the term is related to the purpose of using the loan.
In this context, the Bank of Albania noted that investment lending through long-term and medium-term loans is gaining increasing interest, while short-term loans, where overdraft is generally part, have decreased. /p.s./
