TIRANA, Oct. 7 /ATA/- The functioning of the Supreme Court is essential for the continuation of Albania’s EU integration process.
The Chairperson of the High Judicial Council (HJC) Naureda Llagami, invited to a coordination meeting the chairwoman of the Independent Qualification Commission (IQC), Pamela Qirko, and the chairwoman of the Special Appellate College (SAC), Albana Shtylla with the aim of accelerating the revaluation process of candidacies from the judicial system for members of the Supreme Court.
Filling vacancies in the Supreme Court, in addition to being a priority for the High Judicial Council, requires close cooperation between all constitutional bodies which will guarantee the functioning of the rule of law, the independence of the justice system and the restoration of public confidence in justice institutions.
To this end, the role of the evaluation bodies of the vetting process is important to increase the probability of selecting the candidates with more integrity, professionalism and credibility to serve in this Court. //a.i/
