TIRANA, Oct. 2 /ATA/- During the joint meeting between the two governments Albania-Kosovo the Prime Minister Edi Rama stressed the importance of the interconnection, especially the cooperation in the field of digital and railway interconnection.
In his speech, the Albania’s Prime Minister Rama stressed that, “today we are taking an important step to explore the possibilities of the construction of the railway line between the two countries in the light of the development of regional railway corridors and mutual technical and professional cooperation.”
“This step will take time, but it goes in parallel with what we are practically realizing- a common Albania- Kosovo port in Durrës- in function of the whole region, which requires a multiple connection from the point of view of transport, including the railway,” underlined the premier Rama.
The Prime Minister Rama announced that, “we will finally kick off the construction of the Tirana-Durrës railway after a long odyssey in the labyrinth of procedures of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as another step in the right direction along with the commitment to develop the digital corridor Pristina-Tirana based on 5G technology.”
“I want to reaffirm the position of the Albanian government that the countries of our region should view the prospects for 5G technology development based on a secure network in every aspect,” the premier added. //a.i/
