TIRANA, September 23/ATA/- The Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Wednesday that, the government policy on zero profit tax and zero VAT for small business has already become a reality like in no other country in the region, while the scheme for a massive increase of 40% in the salaries of doctors and nurses will be published next week.
The Prime Minister Rama stated today that,” the review study of the progressive taxation system is well underway and I think that we will come to positive conclusions.”
“As of July this year, when the proposed law on zero profit tax and zero VAT became a reality, the small businesses with an annual turnover up to ALL 14 million have been exempted from paying the profit tax, whereas those with a turnover up to ALL 10 million have been also exempted from paying the VAT,” the premier Rama said.
“These measures could never be taken, nor could not be thought of, some 4 years ago or 7 years ago when companies were facing a mountain of debts,” the Prime Minister Edi Rama said.
“Through reforms, determination and patience, even after shocks such as earthquakes and pandemic, we managed to face the challenges with dignity, and today we are under circumstances in which we can go ahead and achieve our goals,” he added. //a.i/
