TIRANA, Sept 14/ATA/- EU Ambassador to Tirana Luigi Soreca stated on Monday that, the EU continues to encourage Albania to proceed with no delay, with the aim of fully re-establishing the Court’s functioning.
In his remarks, Ambassador Soreca emphasized that, it is essential to finalize appointments to the Constitutional Court.
“It is critical to finalise the appointments to the Constitutional Court. The EU continues to encourage the Albanian authorities to proceed with no delay, with the aim of fully re-establishing the Court’s functioning. This is a requirement of the EU Council Conclusions of 25.3.20 to be fulfilled prior to the first IGC. The opinion of the Venice Commission provides the necessary guidance to all competent Albanian authorities to swiftly complete the outstanding appointments. The EU continues to stand close to Albania on its EU accession path,” the EU Ambassador to Albania, Luigi Soreca stated on Monday. //a.i/
