TIRANA, August 8 /ATA/- The Albanian government has increased funding for various socio-economic programs that provide assistance and support to children, women and girls in need, and gender issues.
The World Bank positively assessed the Albanian government that in these four years has increased the budget in programs that address gender issues.
“For a period of four years, Albania has increased the budget for programs addressing gender issues from 9 to 33 programs” – reads the report recently published by the World Bank, “On public policies that create opportunities for women in Europe and Central Asia”.
The WB emphasized that effective public policies help the marginalized categories, from the difficult situation created by the pandemic.
“Furthermore, the report continues, the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic crisis has provided new evidence of the need for an effective, accountable and comprehensive government response. “The capacity of governments to respond to these complex challenges is well extended, but that does not limit the growth of citizens’ expectations.”
The publication of the report “On public policies that create opportunities for women in Europe and Central Asia” is based on the World Bank’s broad commitment across the ECA and the 2019 regional governance conference./a.g/p.s./
