TIRANA, July 31 /ATA/ PM Edi Rama stated on Saturday that constitutional changes approved yesterday do not affect the June 5 agreement.
During a televised interview, Prime Minister Rama said that the pre-election coalition will be possible again for those parties that want to merge into a single entity and have their own joint list.
Open lists, he said, enable the voters to get acquainted with electoral coalitions, including the program, the leader and the candidates so they will not vote blindly for coalitions that are barely known to the public.
PM said that decision on open lists came as a result of the growing public interest.
We, the Prime Minister continued, stand for not less than 2/3, not to limit ourselves to open them 100%, but also not to allow a closure of more than 30%. And all that, he said, is to be discussed.
“We are not the party that is the first to speak, but the last, we take all the time needed to analyze all stands, advantages and disadvantages of a likely change,” Rama said.
