TIRANA, July 19 /ATA/ – The Municipality of Pogradec, small resort city on the hilly shores of Lake Ohrid, has reopened the old lake beach of Uçka following an investment designed to turn it into an expanded charming beach area with paved pedestrian streets, benches, lighting and green spaces.
The space of Uçka lake beach, one of the most popular and preferred destinations for the local residents, will offer more space to the growing number of visitors to the area.
The Municipality of Pogradec said Sunday the requalification project has transformed the beach area and it included a series of interventions to upgrade infrastructure and the pedestrian areas.
“Unfortunately, this part of the resort town needed an emergent solution as it was completely abandoned over the years. We are happy because the investment has already transformed the area, turning it into a popular destination that people love to walk and promote walking for health and pleasure,” Municipality of Pogradec said.
The investment included pavement of the pedestrian area, which is now connected to the town’s main boulevard, rehabilitation and expansion of the beach area, installation of benches and public lighting and creation of green spaces.
