TIRANA, July 16 /ATA/- Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that, “The June 5 agreement is not affected at any point.”
During his speech in the Assembly, while addressing the lawmakers of the Parliamentary opposition, PM Rama said that, “Let me give you a clear message. You cannot take them all, you cannot ask for all, and together we must make our concessions. I am telling you today to be very clear, it is impossible for us to vote together with you if you do not vote together with us and for us the June 5 agreement, not affected at any point.”
“I say, I do not like the June 5 agreement and for me it has a big problem that we have not been able to address the main OSCE-ODIHR recommendation, which is a recommendation almost repeated in all reports, the depoliticization of the election administration. But, what distinguishes the democratic system and pluralistic coexistence is that you have to withdraw, make compromises and accept what you do not like for the sake of a greater interest,” PM Rama said.
“And we made a very big concession, not because we had no other way, but because this was the best way to include the DP and the extra-Parliamentary opposition in the political process and it is a motive for all of us to understand that the SP and I personally do not have an authoritarian approach. It was the opportunity to do the opposite if we were like that and to say who are you, you are not in the Parliament, you do not represent anyone other than yourself and your street, we do not know you”, – said PM Rama.
But, added the prime minister, from the institutional point of view we would be correct, but from the political point of view and from our democratic point of view for our political life we would not be correct because DP is a political reality despite not being part of today’s Parliamentary reality./k.s / /a.g/p.s./
