TIRANA, July 14 /ATA/ / Minister for Reconstruction, Arben Ahmetaj, reported that the program for reconstruction of 140 schools that were damaged by November 26 earthquake is totally operational.
During a meeting held on the occasion of disbursing grants for repair of the houses damaged by earthquake in Tirana, minister Ahmetaj made an overview of the school reconstruction program.
“There are 140 schools, a good part of them financed from the state budget, are under construction. In the municipality of Tirana, the schools are in the final bidding process, ” Minister Ahmetaj said.
According to him, the construction for a good part of schools as part of the program will be built by UNDP with the funding of the European Commission. The amount made available from the EC, he said, is 65million euros.
