TIRANA, June 21/ATA/ Section of the Human Trafficking Investigation in the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, in cooperation with the Special Operations Sector in the Local Directorate of the Tirana Police, in coordination with the Criminal Police Department and under the direction of the Prosecution Office at the Court of First Instance of Tirana, after an almost 8-month investigation has successfully finalized the operation “Stafeta”, a crackdown on human smuggling.
In the light of the investigation of the criminal proceedings of 2019 at the Prosecution Office at the Court of First Instance of Tirana, there have been provided the documents on criminal activity involving the detained citizens; A.O., 36 years old, M.I., 30 years old, A.V., 39 years old, A.B., 20 years old, residents in Tirana, as well as A.P., 21 years old and M.P., 19 years old, both residents in Korça.
The Police has seized the material evidence found on persons involved in the criminal activity consisting of ; 12,000 euros, 1 million ALL, a pistol firearm, 10 mobile phones, cash withdrawal forms from money transfer agencies, as well as two vehicles used to transport migrants.//a.i/
