TIRANA, June 17 /ATA/ – Farmer Halil Dedej from the village of Zhurje, Tirana outskirts, uses new tools and a tractor he has purchased through a grant under from the IPARD program, with which he aims to increase agricultural production.
He has benefited a grant worth 48.700 euros for “agricultural machinery”.
“I benefited agricultural equipment, plough and a trailer under the IPARD program. I am very pleased at the investment as I have been granted very good agricultural equipment that will help me to increase locally-grown produce,” Dedej said.
The Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Albania, Ambassador Luigi Soreca said that “IPARD program has had a very successful beginning in Albania. Since its launch in early 2019, two calls for applications have attracted interest of more than 700 farmers and agri-food businesses.”
“Financing contracts worth 16 million euros in EU contributions have been signed with farmers throughout the country, while many more contracts are underway,” Soreca said.
