Electoral reform, Wadephul: Keep working in constructive spirit to reach EU standards

TIRANA, June 8 /ATA/ Deputy chairman of CDU / CSU parliamentary group Johann Wadephul has called on political parties in Albania to continue working in this constructive spirit for Electoral Reform.

“The agreement between the government and the opposition on an important part of the Electoral Reform should encourage further tough negotiations on the 15 conditions that Albania must meet before the accession negotiations begin. I call on both parties to continue working in this constructive spirit. I am happy that I continue to support this effort, “he said.

Wadephul added that differences between both parties should be overcome in order to come up with an electoral law that meets the EU and OSCE standards. Only in this way, free and fair elections will be held in Albania. They are a pre-condition for Albania on its path to EU.
