TIRANA, June 5 /ATA/- On World Environment Day, the Albanian Power Corporation (KESH) points out that Albania’s natural resources are abundant as are the HPP reservoirs under the administration of KESH, built decades ago.
In addition to their role as the main producers of electricity in the country, they offer picturesque and impressive views and carry prominent environmental values. A boat sail across the waters of Lake Koman and Fierza leaves an indelible imprint on memory.
According to KESH, the natural values near HPPs offer numerous opportunities for the development of natural tourism, generating significant income for the community.
The areas close to our dams and reservoirs are used for various activities such as outdoor walks, sport fishing or cultivation, swimming, boating, observation points, natural parks for children, etc.
To facilitate the process of developing investments and economic, environmental and social activities, KESH is drafting the Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy, which will set development priorities and challenges in coordination with communities, in the frame of economic, environmental and social investments that KESH will launch.
On this World Environment Day, it is worth mentioning that KESH pays special attention to environmental protection and the promotion of natural and biodiversity values in and around reservoirs, investing and constantly caring for them.
