TIRANA, May 26 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ – The President of the Republic decreed Tuesday three draft laws adopted by the governing majority in Parliament.
President Meta signed the bill on environmental permits, environmental protection and forests into laws, his office said. The law on environmental permits and protection aims at simplifying administrative procedures and altering the current three-level system regarding the environmental permits.
The new legislation on forests, according to the President, would stipulate a new sectoral regulation on forests and partially aligns two regulations with the European Union legislation.
“The law strengthening in clear terms, starting with the provision of the purpose of the law, the need for protection of forests as a wealth of special importance in terms of the irreplaceable values in climate protection, soil, conservation and improvement of Production potentials, balances of the natural environment, biodiversity, genetic resources and the hydro regime, as obligations of national and international interest, are to be highly evaluated,” President’s office said in a press release.
