TIRANA, May 25/ATA/- Three years ago Tefik Zdrava was ploughing his land with oxen and plow. Now, he has doubled the productivity and the cultivated land area after investing the IPARD Like grant in a tractor and other mechanical equipment.
Zdrava pointed out that, the IPARD Like program has given him the opportunity to obtain mechanical equipment, which are helping him to increase the cultivated land area, the yield of the production and to get better quality products.
The European Union through the IPARD programme provided funding assistance to Zdrava, enabling him to buy a tractor and harvester. “Today I produce up to 100 quintal of wheat compared to 30 quintal I used to provide before putting into use the agricultural mechanics,” he said.
In 2017 the farmer produced about 8 tons of corn and 7 tons of fodder. Today productivity has doubled thanks to EU assistance for advanced mechanics.//a.i/
