TIRANA, May 20 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/- Vice PM , Erion Braçe, commemorating on Saturday the 28th anniversary of the assassination of the outstanding Italian prosecutor, Giovanni Falcone, said that justice reform is the biggest commitment of SP in 30 years.
In his reaction, Vice PM Braçe stresses that justice reform is the only inspiration for him to stay in politics.
I have chosen to say a few words today, on the day the mafia barbarically killed a judge symbolizing the war against it, an inspiration Giovani Falcone and, in the week that brings me back to the time I entered politics against the backdrop of barbarism with the vital right to elect and to be elected at the end of May 1996-26 May; for Justice Reform. Justice reform is the Socialist Party’s biggest commitment in 30 years! We started it off alone thanks to the courage of men and women who were voted to really sanction equal justice at the core of a society where inequality and injustice have built disgraceful statuses by dividing citizens into those who are subject to investigation, judgement and prosecution and those who are immune to them- a minority of politicians, government officials, businessmen, criminals, prosecutors and judges pulled together behind a system which was mocking, violent and criminal, “he said.
“We asked national partners in politics, believing that each one of them understood that it was rife with wrongdoing. We have often made ridiculous attempts to help them overcome their fear and not only, believing that equal, fair and professional justice for all is far better than the controlled one that does not investigate or judge you as a sign of your strong power but that keeps you in suspense over a crime committed that has not been investigated, judged and punished. We never had partners, we don’t even have them today! On the contrary, fighters yesterday and fighters today against Justice Reform! Fortunately, we had the support of the US and EU in this endeavor, they assisted, supported, supervised at all times the reform as whole to continue so during its implementation! In June 2017, we were voted to get justice reform done, what we have done until then and what we would continue to do for equal justice! With the mandate entrusted upon us from those votes, I will never forget that! ”
“Justice reform consists of a host of pillars; purging the justice reform from corrupt judges and prosecutors, establishment of justice governance institutions not from politics- president, government, parliament/MPs/majority, appointment of prosecutors from justice institutions instead of politics – president, govt., parliament, MPs, majority, criminal investigation into any prosecutor and judge found in breach of the law over their wealth and not only,” Braçe says.
