TIRANA, May 12/ATA/- The Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama stated at today’s online conference with journalists that, the process of opening EU accession negotiations with Albania is on the track.
In his remarks, the premier Rama said that, “the focus of Zagreb Summit was not to set a date for accession talks, this is not an attribute of that meeting format.”
“The decision to set a date for starting talks will be taken by European Council upon the proposal of the Commission,” the Prime Minister Rama said.
The Prime Minister informed that, “we have already set up the negotiation structure, we have been introduced to the name of the chief negotiator, and we are very clear about what we need to do.”
“There’s no concern over the date for starting talks. The date will be set when both the report of the EU Commission and the approval by the Council will be available, but what is important is that intensive work is underway,” the Prime Minister Rama said.//a.i/
