TIRANA, May 8/ATA/-220 Albanian citizens have been repatriated from the United States to Albania, thanks to the support of the Albanian Government in this process.
Ambassador of Albania to the United States Floreta Luli-Faber gave the news saying that “in the last group, 125 Albanian citizens have left the United States, mainly from New York, but many of them also flew from Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Dallas, Minneapolis, Detroit, Las Vegas, Tampa, Miami and Washington DC. In some cases, directly to London and further to Tirana.
“Organized in groups and on different days, almost all the requests of the citizens presented at the Embassy of Albania in Washington have been met, but also announced through the media. We are aware that a number of citizens have not been able to travel due to lack of documentation, financial costs, limited air connections to New York, students who were exactly these days in exam season, or other personal reasons. We wish that the normal flights start as soon as possible and the citizens travel normally with the tickets reserved beforehand “, the ambassador stated.
The Albanian Embassy in Washington DC, she continued, drafted a detailed plan with all the steps of this process which, due to the situation of COVID-19, proved not at all easy to realize./a.g/p.s./
