Kurbin/ Reconstruction work progressing rapidly despite pandemic, projects to radically transform town

TIRANA, May 6 /ATA/ – Socialist Party lawmaker Lindita Nikolla on Wednesday said that the Covid-19 pandemic has not affected progress of the ongoing reconstruction project in Kurbin, one of the hard-hit areas by the last November’s earthquake, and that the government projects will radically transform Kurbin.

Lawmaker Nikolla met with Mayor of Kurbin Majlinda Cara to learn more about the situation and measures being implemented to stem the spread of the Covid-19 infection.

Kurbin was one of the worst-hit areas by the Nov 26 earthquake, Nikolla said, adding that the pandemic has not slowed down the work to construct homes and the apartment buildings under the government’s reconstruction program.

A total of 32 people in Kurbin have contracted COVID-19.

Mayor of Kurbin informed lawmaker Nikolla on the ongoing humanitarian operation to support needy families and retired people in the area.
