TIRANA, May 2/ATA/- Writer Helena Kadare held in high esteem the medical workers who are on the front line of the battle against COVID-19.
Speaking on television, she said she would bow to the medical workers “among whom I saw a heroism that is nowhere to be found”, as she put it.
“I saw a TV broadcast “Inside COVID” and it was terribly shocking because I saw inside the Infectious Diseases Hospital those women and men, mostly women; it was an extraordinary job that shocked us about what work is done there that people don’t know. I thought that as soon as I could, I would go and bow to those women among whom I saw a heroism I could not find anywhere else. I heard and saw that the chief of “Infectious Diseases” Najada Çomo, used to stay 20 hours in the hospital without rest, with an admirable devotion. I congratulate the team of medical workers and mainly women, because Albanian women are always the most devoted I have ever known in my life “, – said Kadare.
“I have heard that the citizens have respected the rules there, but there have also been some of them who are somewhat irresponsible. I heard a lady who said ‘I’m not afraid’, but this is not a matter of fear, we have to think about others, not to become a danger to loved ones “, – appealed writer Kadare. /a.g/p.s./
