TIRANA, April 12 /ATA/ – The President of the Republic Ilir Meta sent his Easter greetings to Cardinal Ernest Simon Troshani, hailing him as “a symbol of resistance and unprecedented devotion to the human values and national ideals.”
“With God’s bless, May he live long, healthy and happy life,” Meta said.
“As Catholic believers celebrate Easter behind closed doors on these difficult days of global pandemic, Cardinal Ernest Simon Troshani rightly reminds us of his years of inhuman suffering and torture, where although isolated in prison cells, he found strength, courage and hope in faith and love for life and people!” Meta emphasized.
Quoting Cardinal Troshani, Meta said: “Don’t be afraid to turn to God with prayer and make sure that God’s love is sent upon everyone. Break a loaf of bread and share it and your wealth with the poor for Jesus is giving it. When you help the homeless and the sick, you have done the work of God. The greatest wealth today is sharing. Faith consists of deeds and miracles, not just words. God is not alone in the church. God is everywhere, God is also inside our cells.”
