TIRANA, April 1 /ATA/ PM drew attention on Wednesday to the ongoing discussion with banks operating in our country about the guarantee fund worth USD 100 mln made available by the govt. to cover the pays of employees in businesses with an annual turnover up to ALL 14 mln forced to interrupt their activity amid the measures imposed to stop the COVID-19 infection from spreading.
“We are discussing with banks the ‘bailout package’, the deployment of the sovereign guarantee facility to cover the salaries of employees who are off work,” Prime Minister Rama said.
PM added that they are deliberating to expand the package in April taking into the dynamics of the situation.
The General Directorate of Taxation announces that the economic assistance pay starts on April 1. According to information from tax administration, over 60 thousand employees or self-employed with zero wages will be eligible for this assistance. The assistance is set to last up to 3 months.
