TIRANA, March 20/ATA/-The first 150 packages of aid are distributed in the administrative unit Lazarat, Antigone and Odrie, as well as municipal unit Qender, Gjirokastër. The aid is in context of the government measures to cope with the cornavirus situation.
Gjirokastra Mayor Flamur Golemi told ATA that the aid is going first of all to families living on economic assistance, Roma and Egyptian communities, people with disabilities, the families in need and the lonely elderly.
The municipality has set up three working groups to deal with the needs of the elderly.
Golemi said that up to now the municipality has identified about 300 families and lonely elderly who will be provided with food packages and hygiene means.
The Post Office is also helping taking care to send the pension home to the elderly./k.s/p.s./
