TIRANA, Feb 27 /ATA/The SP Secretary General, also chairman of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla stated on Thursday evening that crucial reforms launched by the govt. would not have advanced if SP were in coalition with another partY in the country.
During a televised interview, Balla said that this is an important term for the SP because we have launched a number of reforms which would have been impossible if we were in coalition.
To illustrate his point, Balla cited the anti KÇK package. “ The normative act has taken effect and is being enforced. Parliament of Albania should vote on March 5 with majority of votes. I am confident that parliamentary opposition will endorse it, however if we were in coalition with SMI, it would have never supported the anti KÇK package due to their opposition despite the indispensability for crackdown on organized crime. The SP was ready to withdraw from coalition with SMI if they stood in our way to passing justice reform,” he said.
The head of SP parliamentary group denied that the committee for impeachment proceedings against President has dragged its feet, linking its delay to another constitutional violation of Meta, his refusal of the swearing in ceremony for the member of Constitutional Court, for which, he said, we are awaiting the opinion of Venice Commission to proceed with his impeachment.
