TIRANA, Feb 22 /ATA/ “The Balkan Schengen makes integration more complete and easier,” PM Edi Rama said on Saturday.
In his address to the conference entitled “One continent, one future” organized by “Qemal Stafa” foundation, PM Rama said that the new methodology includes a regional element and sooner or later our countries will measure themselves not only against what they do within them, but also how they behave to one another. If for the time being we do not have a chance to integrate in the space of four freedoms of Europe in EU, we have the opportunity to do such a thing in the region with each one of us working to be evaluated and be rewarded in relation to EU accession from the regional perspective, we can do such a thing in parallel benefiting everyone, people, employees, entrepreneurs, tourists and so on.
“It is by no means similar to EU at one point, we do not necessarily need consensus on everything, it is open, flexible, free to everyone, it is not based on the mechanism of consensus requiring every member of this initiative to agree to everything.”
