TIRANA, Feb 21/ATA/- The Bank of Albania, BoA reported that commercial banks in the country have been more sensitive to measures for increasing the use of local currency, lek and reducing its use in banking services.
The result of the de-euroization package are shown in the bank’s balance sheet assets.
At the end of 2019, foreign currency portfolio weight fell to 51.4%, decreasing by 2.3% as of mid-2019 and by 5.2% compared to the end of 2018.
The Bank of Albania has emphasized the need to take measures to control and reduce the use of foreign currency in the real sector of the economy.//a.i/
