TIRANA, December 4/ATA/-Head of the Emergency Response Division Bledi Çuçi, at the same time Minister of Agriculture, briefed today at an emergency government meeting on the damage caused by the November 26 earthquake.
In Durres region, Çuçi said that, “So far, there have been inspected 656 objects and the number is increasing”. “Among these, 242 buildings are uninhabitable and 27 of them are set to be demolished,” said he.
In the region of Tirana, according to Çuçi, there are damaged 525 apartment blocks and 3921 houses and 146 businesses.
In the district of Lezha, Çuçi said that, “There are about 400 residences that have been damaged, 138 are averagely damaged, 53 of them are severely damaged, and 13 institutions have suffered severe damages and 3 medium damage”.
“It is very important at this stage to intensify the assessment of damages and to add experts to verify the physical condition of all buildings affected by the earthquake,” said he./p.s./
