Another step toward NBI establishment, U.S. government donates five polygraph examination kits

TIRANA, Nov 22 /ATA/ -By I. Vata/ – The government of the United States has donated five polygraph examination kits to Albania’s National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

The U.S. Embassy in Tirana said on Friday that the National Bureau of Investigation took one more step toward establishment this week with the donation of five polygraph examination kits from the U.S. government to the Ministry of Interior.

“The equipment will be used by U.S.-trained polygraphs who will conduct examinations of NBI applicants to help maintain the highest standards of integrity,” the U.S. Embassy said.

“The donations and certification of polygraphs is part of a ten-week program funded by the U.S. Department of State: Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) through the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) program. The Director General and management team of the Service of Internal Affairs and Complaints (SIAC) – the organization that will employ the polygraph examiners – joined the ICITAP Program Manager and INL Director (Albania) to celebrate the formal hand over of the polygraph equipment,” the Embassy said.
