TIRANA, Nov 21 /ATA/ German Ambassador to our country, Peter Zingraf, visited Thursday the Port of Durres, where he appreciated the positive climate offered to German business.
He was received by Durres Port Authority Executive Director, Pirro Vengu, who expressed his readiness to further cooperation with the Port of Durres, as one of the key players of the country’s economic development and with great potential for the whole region.
After making an overview of financial performance and capacities offered by the Port of Durres, the head of DPA emphasized the importance of investments in port infrastructure and the work to improve environmental standards in all port areas.
Vengu briefed the ambassador on the steps taken by the Port Authority of Durres to access the expertise of some of the main agencies of the European Union (Germany and France), with main focus on legitimacy, integrated border management and more efficient coordination of law enforcement agencies in the port spaces.
German Delegation at the closing of the meeting in DPA premises stopped in Western Terminal where he saw first- hand the processing capacities of the port.
On his visit, German ambassador was accompanied by deputy ambassador and two top executives of German concessionary companies that operate in the port of Durres.
