Soreca: Leave aside debates and establish Constitutional Court

TIRANA, November 18/ATA/- The Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Albania Luigi Soreca stated today that political dialogue is important for the future of the country and that debates on the Constitutional Court should be set aside and a credible institution is set up.

In his remarks at the event on opening of the School of European Integration, Ambassador Soreca emphasized that, “We shall give the priority to the commitments, both electoral reform and justice. We know that SPAK will be established in the coming months. ”

“Everyone should invest in reaching a political compromise. This is for the benefit of Albania, “said Soreca.

The EU leader in Tirana said that, “In terms of electoral reform, we encourage political parties to succeed. Approve the package as soon as possible. ”

Speaking about Albania’s integration process, Soreca said that, “Not opening of the negotiations was not a decision, but a postponement of the decision. It was not a vote, not a unanimous decision, but a decision to return to reflection. Our commitment to Albania remains unchanged. ”

According to him, failure to open negotiations opened a big debate.

“Never before has there been such a big debate. I hope that in the coming months we will have a positive recommendation for the opening of the EU accession negotiations. I would like to quote French President Macron: If we reform the process strategy, we shall open the negotiations, “said Soreca./k.s/p.s./
