TIRANA, Nov 18 /ATA/ – “ Domestic situation and political polarization in Albania will not affect the success of OSCE’s Albanian Presidency which will act in compliance with values and priorities as well as in close cooperation with organization,” Parliament Speaker, Gramoz Ruçi, said during a meeting with
President of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, George Tsereteli.
Ruçi hosted on Monday the President of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly George Tsereteli and the delegation which is on an official visit to Albania.
The meeting focused on preparations to address the challenges of OSCE’s Albanian Presidency during 2020 as well as various aspects of political situation and reforms in Albania.
Parliament Speaker briefed the President of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly on preparations of parliament and Albanian govt. to guarantee a successful presidency.
“We have established an excellent cooperation with OSCE which will strengthen under the Albanian Presidency. We are also working towards advancing and completing crucial reforms such as: justice overhaul and electoral reform,” Ruçi said.
According to him, electoral reform is a great opportunity to establish political dialogue between the govt. and out –of- parliament opposition.
For his part, President of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, George Tsereteli, pointed out that in Albania we noted the political will of the parliament and govt. to push ahead with reforms and address the challenges lying ahead of the organization’s Presidency.
Electoral reform, he said, should complete before next parliamentary elections.
“Political dialogue is the only long-term and sustainable way to solve domestic issues,” Tsereteli said.
