TIRANA, Nov 7 /ATA/ The ninth meeting of the SEE Parliament Speakers was held on Thursday in Hungary. In attendance of the meeting were parliament speakers of Hungary, North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.
Parliament of Albania was represented by Deputy Parliament Speaker, Vasilika Hysi, who was accompanied by Vasil Sterjovski MP of Albania and Arian Spasse, ambassador of Albania to Hungary.
Hysi hailed this meeting saying profound reforms in justice system, public administration, positive developments in prevention and fight against corruption, better performance in respect for human rights, painful at times, have been launched to the benefit of the country and in fulfillment of the criteria for opening of EU accession talks. The approach of Albania on the European path is of high importance for Albania and the Balkans.
Parliament of Albania supported the statement approved at the end of the meeting and appreciated the assistance and cooperation with neighboring countries which are EU members on our European pathway.
Despite the non-decision on opening of accession talks, we are determined to press on with the EU-related reforms.
