TIRANA, Nov 1 /ATA/ Thanks to awareness raising on importance of screening for breast cancer, over 7 thousand women received mammograms.
Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, said that access to mammograms increased in the light of successful campaign launched in October, otherwise known as the pink month.
“We closed a successful campaign in Pink October with over 7 thousand women receiving the mammogram in public service thanks to awareness raising on importance of breast cancer screening. March 21 if you had no time for screening on October, arrange a meeting with the family doctor to plan the next screening. Take care of yourself every day of the year,” Manastirliu said.
According to figures announced by minister, in October 2019, some 7081 women received mammograms.
