TIRANA, Nov 1 /ATA/- The National Emergency Centre records 1130 calls for medical aid each day and 330 lifesaving missions that are carried out all across the territory.
This is what Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, said at the activity for modernization of National Emergency in Tirana’s Trauma hospital.
“The arrival time of the ambulance has significantly reduced and citizens receive first aid service faster and more professionally. Today the waiting time of emergency arrival at the scene is 15 minutes on average in urban areas and 20 minutes in rural areas,” Manastirliu said.
According to her, the best testimonies of this transformation and modernization are not us but hundreds of thousands of citizens who dial the unique number 127 or 112.
Two years ago we promised the citizens that at the end of the second term of office we will reduce the time of ambulances’ arrival at the spot and until the mid of our term of office we have worked hard to deliver on this commitment,” Manastirliu said.
Minister of Health stated that 37 new ambulances, equipped with life-saving equipment have been added to our fleet, 100 first aid kits have been made available to ambulances in hospitals, from trauma to intubation and medication kits.
We moved ahead to meet the need for doctors and nurses in pre-hospital emergency teams, extend the unique number of emergency calls 127, 122 all across the territory taking another step towards fulfilling the promise we have made to citizens.
Statistics, she added, show that in one year we have zero calls missed by the National Emergency Service coordination unit from the day the unique number received every call from all across Albania.
Speaking about investments in healthcare, Manastirliu said that “like never before investments are well underway to build 7 hospitals, in Tirana, Kukes, Durres, Berat and Lezha. We are reconstructing 300 Health Centers, 80 of which have been completed and 100 are set to complete this year.
