TIRANA, Oct 29 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/- “Resolution of crisis comes through free and fair elections,” the DP head, Lulzim Basha, said at the meeting with director of NDI for South-Eastern Europe, Robert Benjamin.
Basha stated that his discussion with NDI Director for South and Eastern Europe, Robert Benjamin, touched on political crisis in the country.
Until Albania becomes an EU member, it should have a caretaker govt. in place to guarantee free and fair elections. In this way there will be no pressure on voters and administration, no misuse of public funds and state assets, no persons with criminal records. Separating political from crime is crucial to
free vote,” he said.
At the meeting with NDI Director for South-Eastern Europe, Robert Benjamin, Basha has expressed his concern over establishment of new justice institutions.
“I shared the concern on behalf of opposition over delays in establishing the Special Prosecution against Corruption and Central Investigation Bureau which will investigate crime and corruption at high levels as well as DP’s determination to harness the human potential to the benefit of citizens rather than a bunch of corrupt officials,” he said.
