TIRANA, Oct 30 /ATA/ – The OSCE Presence in Albania has unveiled the concept platform for mining royalties, which will be crafted along with representatives of municipalities selected for implementation of pilot project and other key institutions to secure sustainable solutions to all issues related to extractive industry.
In cooperation with the Secretariat of Initiative for Transparency in Extractive Industry, the OSCE Presence in Albania supported on Wednesday the fourth inter-local govt. thematic discussion on issues related to mining royalties.
The meeting held in Bulqiza brought together directors of the municipalities of Bulqiza, Mat, Klos and Peshkopia, as well as central govt. institutions such as the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, and General Customs Directorate, to talk about topics such as even distribution of loyalty revenues, well administration of revenues, environmental impact and child protection efforts in the areas where extractive industries operate.
