TIRANA, October 29 /ATA/-Albania’s Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj said that the decision of the European Council not to open the accession negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia is related with the internal problems of the EU member countries for the future of Europe.
Speaking in an interview on television on Tuesday evening, Cakaj emphasized that the two countries have met the conditions and as a consequence there was not taken any decision on any of them.
According to him, the European Commission has confirmed in its reports that Albania has met all the necessary technical conditions.
“The fulfillment of the conditions set by the member countries has been the most important thing. But, irrespective of the positive recommendations, the European Council still didn’t consider it reasonable to open the negotiations”, said Cakaj./k.s/p.s./
