Eight prosecutors nominated to special anti-corruption prosecution office

TIRANA, Oct 25 /ATA/ – The High Prosecutorial Council (KLP) decided Friday to nominate within next 30 days eight prosecutors to the Special Prosecution Office, a vital body under the ongoing justice reform commonly referred to as SPAK.

Following a regular meeting today, KLP said that on 16 July 2019, the High Prosecutorial Council had endorsed candidacies of 15 candidates to SPAK.

Only eight candidates, namely Altin Dumani, Arben Kraja, Klodian Braho, Enkeleda Millonaj, Edvin Kondili, Ened Nakuçi, Elida Kaçkini and Behar Dibra, have passed the vote, out of a total of 15 candidates.

The today’s proposal requires that within 30 days (or within November 2019) a plenary meeting of the Council completes nomination and appointment of the eight prosecutors to the Special Prosecution Office.

The KLP members expressed their opinion and unanimously backed the proposal.
